How do you unblock someone on Instagram, and what actually happens once you unblock them? I’d like to know whether they get notified or regain access to your profile immediately.

Here’s how to unblock someone on Instagram:

On Mobile App:

  1. Go to your profile.
  2. Tap the three lines (≡) > Settings & Privacy > Blocked accounts.
  3. Find the account and tap Unblock.

On Desktop:

  1. Go to instagram.com.
  2. Search for the blocked user’s profile.
  3. Click Unblock.

What Happens Next:

  • They are not notified.
  • They can find and message you again.
  • They can view your posts, stories, and profile (unless your account is private).
  • Any previous follows, likes, or DMs are not automatically restored.

If you want to view their content anonymously (Stories, Highlights, etc.) without unblocking, use Picnob for private, safe viewing.
