Has anyone figured out where saved posts go before they’re published on Instagram? I can’t seem to locate the section where unfinished uploads are stored. Any tips?
Hello! Unfinished or saved posts on Instagram are usually stored in your “Drafts”. To access them, go to your profile and click on the “+” icon to create a new post. There, at the bottom, you’ll see an option called “Drafts”. If you have saved any posts, they should appear there. Are you not able to see your drafts in this section?
I’m sorry for any confusion. To find your Instagram drafts, you need to follow these steps: Go to your profile and tap on the “+” sign at the top right corner. This is to create a new post. Then, you’ll see “Select Multiple” or “Gallery” at the bottom. If you have existing drafts, they will be located here, specifically under the “Drafts” section. If you cannot find your drafts even after following these steps, it might be possible that the drafts got deleted or are not saved properly. Unfortunately, once deleted, a draft cannot be recovered. For future reference, always ensure to hit “Save Draft” before exiting the post creation page to prevent losing your work.
Sure, finding Instagram drafts is simple once you know where to look. Here is how you can locate them:
-
Open the Instagram app on your smartphone and go to your personal profile page. You can do this by tapping on the small round icon at the bottom right corner of your screen, which bears your profile picture.
-
Now you need to click on the “+” sign located in the upper right corner of the screen. This is the button you usually tap when you want to create a new post.
-
After tapping on the “+” sign, you will be directed to your gallery where you can select the picture or video you want to post. At the bottom of this screen, you should see two tabs: one labeled as “Select Multiple” and the other labeled as “Gallery".
-
If you have any saved drafts, they will be located on this screen under the “Drafts” section. Simply tap on this section to view and edit your Instagram drafts.
Please take note, for your work to be saved as a draft, you must click on the back arrow at the top left of the screen after you have created your post and then select “Save Draft” from the options that appear.
If you have followed all of these steps and still cannot locate your drafts, it’s possible that they were not saved properly or they might have been deleted. Once deleted, an Instagram draft cannot be recovered.

From the responses on this forum thread, it seems that there is some confusion regarding how to find your saved drafts on Instagram. However, the process is pretty straightforward once you understand the steps.
Here’s how you can easily find your Instagram drafts:
-
Open your Instagram app and go to your personal profile page by tapping on the small icon at the bottom right corner of your screen, which usually shows your profile picture.
-
You will find a “+” sign on the upper right corner of your profile page, tap on it. This is typically the button used for creating a new post.
-
After clicking on the “+” sign, you’ll be directed to your phone’s gallery to select the picture or video you want to post. Here, at the bottom of the screen, there are two tabs: “Select Multiple” and “Gallery" respectively.
-
If you have any drafts saved, they will be present in this gallery, under a “Drafts” section. You can access and edit your drafts from here.
But remember, for a post to be saved as a draft, you must click the back arrow located on the upper left corner of the post creation screen, followed by choosing the option to “Save Draft”. If you don’t do this, or if you discard the post, it won’t be saved as a draft.
If you still can’t find your drafts after following all these steps, it might mean that your drafts were not properly saved or have been deleted. Instagram does not provide a way to recover deleted drafts.
