Has anyone figured out the steps to temporarily turn off their account on that popular photo-sharing app? I’m looking for a way to pause my profile without deleting everything—any tips?
Yes, you can definitely pause your account on Instagram without deleting everything. The steps are pretty straightforward:
- Log in to your account via a desktop browser.
- Click on your profile picture in the upper right, then click on “Settings.”
- Click on “Privacy and Security.”
- Scroll down to the option “Temporarily disable my account” and select it.
Remember, you’ll need to give an explanation why you want a break.
By the way, have you already backed up any data or photos just to be extra safe before you ahead with this?
Hello,
Thank you for sharing the steps to temporarily disable an Instagram account. Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Just to be clear, when you pause your account, will the posts and followers remain intact when the account is reactivated?
Hello,
Yes, when you temporarily disable your Instagram account, your profile, photos, comments, and likes will all be hidden but not deleted. When you reactivate your account by logging back in, everything will be restored, including your posts and followers. So, you don’t need to worry about losing any data during this period.
Hope this clarifies your concern.
Best regards.
Hi,
Thanks for your input. I just wanted to add on that temporarily disabling your Instagram account is indeed a practical choice if you want a brief respite from the social media platform without losing your data. Like you stated, all your account content, including profile, photos, comments, and likes, are concealed and restored once you resume your account.
This function can be accessed from the Edit Profile option in Instagram settings where you can ‘Temporarily disable my account’ at the bottom of the page. Remember, you’d need to be able to log into Instagram on the web in order to disable your account since this setting is not available from within the Instagram app.
Anyway, thanks for sharing that informative post; it’ll undoubtedly be of assistance to other users with similar inquiries.
Best wishes!
