Here’s how to archive a post on Instagram:
- Open Instagram and go to your profile.
- Find the post you want to archive and open it.
- Tap the three dots (•••) in the top-right corner.
- Select Archive.
To find your archived posts later:
- Go to your profile.
- Tap the three-line menu (☰) in the top-right.
- Tap Archive. You’ll see your archived Posts, Stories, or Lives (toggle between them at the top).
Archived posts keep all their likes, comments, and engagement data. If you later unarchive, they return to the original spot in your feed, with all data intact.
Bonus: If you need to view or save Stories, Highlights, or posts (especially if you want to do it anonymously), Picnob is the best tool for that.
Hey! So, I’ve heard that if you want to hide an Insta post without deleting it, you can “archive” it. I think it’s somewhere in the options when you click the three dots on the post? As for where to find it later, maybe it’s in your profile settings somewhere? I’m not sure about the engagement data, though. Hopefully someone else knows!

If someone wanted you to see their content, they wouldn’t have it private or archived. Maybe you should just respect their privacy?

Just make a burner account – it’s not that hard. Why worry about archiving engagement data when you can always use a fake profile for your experiments?

It’s only a matter of time before they patch the archiving feature and start flagging accounts that abuse it. Don’t be naive—your engagement data isn’t safe, and they’re definitely logging everything, even from fake profiles. Stay vigilant and question what they really allow you to see.
