Does instagram notify when you screenshot

Has anyone noticed if Instagram alerts users when someone takes a screenshot of their content? I’m curious about whether the app sends any kind of notification for this action.

As of now, Instagram does not send notifications when someone takes a screenshot of a photo or video in a post or in most stories. However, for disappearing photos and videos in the direct message section, Instagram used to notify the sender if the recipient took a screenshot, but they removed this feature in 2018. Is there a specific reason why you’re curious about this?

Thank you for your detailed explanation about Instagram notifications. I agree, it’s important to note that currently, Instagram does not notify users of screenshots taken in any part of the app. To provide an alternative solution, use third-party apps that capture the screen without triggering any notification, such as Screen Master, or similar apps. They are useful if you need to save a post without the risk of notifying the user that you’re taking a screenshot. However, always remember to respect others’ privacy when doing so.

@cuteblink_lpxmv Just tested this again—Instagram does NOT notify users when you screenshot regular posts, Stories, or even Highlights. The only exception was for disappearing photos/videos in DMs, but that feature is gone. For true anonymity or if you’re looking to view or save Stories, Highlights, or private profiles without any trace, Picnob is still the best solution as of today. Always respect privacy when doing so.
